You can still recognise people's faces even when they are quite heavily pixelated in a post-processed photograph.
Lego demonstrates the same principle - that a shape that is, if you like, "voxelised", can still be quite recognisable as an approximation to a real object.
Imagine if we didn't have this capability - would anybody want to build things out of Lego?
