Ancient pencil case
circa 1985
I hand-sewed this pencil case one school holidays, from a piece of (rather horrible) rubber-backed fabric that was intended for a swimming bag that never quite got made, and a dress zip that happened to be in my bag of sewing stuff.
Enduring various ink leaks and much rough handling by miscellaneous children, it's still in one piece and still in active service twenty years later. Shame it wasn't a more attractive piece of material to begin with, eh?
