Flower arrangement

On a walk through nearby woodlands, we discovered large numbers of fallen tree branches bearing clusters of these small flower-like cones and curvy bud-bearing offshoots.
The branches were so attractive that I hauled quite a few of them home, and put together this seasonal "flower arrangement" (left) to go on the mantelpiece above our fireplace.
