Fascinated by the way flat sheets of cardboard could be designed to fold up into complex 3-D containers, I briefly contemplated a career as a packaging engineer. Unfortunately the last thing the world needs is more bloody packaging.
Polyhedral nets are a particularly compelling example of 3-D emergence from 2-D components.
