Chair no. 1: How NOT to do it.

My husband initially suggested I draw this little toddler's chair from memory, without looking at it. I couldn't do this at all - my ability to mentally represent and manipulate 3D objects is legendarily poor.
Instead, somewhat flustered, I drew a quick sketch with the chair in front of me. It's clear from the poor and childish picture that I wasn't really looking at all, just drawing an iconic version of "the chair" without really seeing it.
